  2. Anonymous asked: I have several bland pairs of flats, collecting ideas for jazzing them up. Go!

    sequin-stuffed:

    YES! FUN!

Okay, I’ll start with the most obvious one that you’ve probably seen everywhere (but I still want to list it!):

    • Glitter Flats!

I’ve been meaning to do this for months. I used to never think I’d want glittery shoes (which honestly sounds crazy to me now) but I’ve done a complete 180 on that idea.

We Are Not Martha has a really great tutorial on how to make these!

    • I also really like the idea of adding a big bow to the front of your glittery shoes, like these:

    Okay, moving on.

    • Fabric + Mod Podge = easy shoe jazz-up

this tutorial is from Notes from the Bench.

I like the idea of using different strips of fabric as well.

    • Ok, I love this next idea. I’m not sure if you’ve seen it, or if you’re into the idea BUT..

    comic book flats!

You could really do this with any kind of paper, not just comic books. I saw one person use sheet music to cover their shoes! You could probably do pages of books too? If you were okay with ripping a book apart.

    (via cut out & keep)

    • Oh, and last but not least, I think studs would be a pretty neat idea. Kinda like these from Sweet Monday:

I hope these ideas helped! Feel free to submit any of your finished products, cos I’d love to show ‘em off to everyone! ^-^

Thanks to sequin-stuffed for making this re-bloggable! Love these.

  6. Hey, first submission here. This picture was taken by my husband on Christmas Eve in our living room, after the church service we attended with my parents but before the church service we attended with his parents. I feel like I look really awkward since I never know what to do with my limbs when taking pictures.

I don’t think you can tell from the not-so-great resolution, but I have glitter gradient nails (which I did myself— so proud!) for added bling. Unfortunately, my curls were falling out because I haven’t quite gotten the hang of my newish curling iron, so I wish I’d gone with my instinct to take the picture in the morning when I was fresh. Still, I think I looked nice and festive even in my usual black, and my daughter/husband/mom/MIL/etc. thought so too.

    Outfit details:

The dress is from Macy’s, bought on sale for a conference I attended, and the ring detail is part of the dress, not a belt. The cardigan is thrifted (and sparkly!), but the tag is cut off so I can’t say what brand. Tights are from Kohl’s and the black flats are from Payless. Earlier in the day I had on black patent pumps with a bow, also from Payless, and a solid green shawl/scarf from Target.

Thank you for this submission! Love the sparkle & gorgeous outfit. If you’d like to submit an outfit (special event, OOTD,) or anything fashion related submit here

Tonights outfit. I was gonna go with sequins but went with this instead. Mixing hard and soft. Nail polish is chipping and is OPI is “congeniality my middle name”. Hopefully I’ll take better photos later. idk why my mole looks like a mocco. I got the same one as my momma and my sisters said I look like my mom when I get dressed up and I said “thanks”.
